TV3 is a Malaysian public, private television channel that is handled and operated by a private department Media Prima Berhad (it is a Malaysian conglomerate). On 1 June 1984 (almost 30 years ago), it starts its broadcasting at local time (18:00) that was launched by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad. It has its headquarters in Bandar Utama, Petaling Java Selangor. It began to broadcast its programs in three languages, Malaya, English, and Indonesian. Its first and current slogan is “Inspirasi hidupku”.
In the beginning, it does not provide 24hour services but it start broadcasting 24hour a day on 31 august 1997 and at that time it was the first Malaysian television channel that was providing services. but unfortunately, it was discontinued after a year because of its unpopularity and the Asian financial crisis, in 2003, it restarted its broadcasting in the month of Ramadhan. Its current services began in January 2010 although it may remain sign-off due to maintenance.
TV3 became the first and foremost commercial channel in collaboration with Radio Television Malaysia (RTM) and then started Malaysians live coverage of the Los Angeles Olympics. This thing was done in 1988 and 1992. In 2013, it was the most-watched private television channel in Malaysia.

TV3 was working together with TV9 and Local Malay language daily Berita Harian and English Language daily the New Straits Times from the biggest group of media known as Media Prima Berhad and currently handled by Ahmad Izham Omar.
For economies recovery, there has been a steady demand for local programs like current affairs, talk shows, magazines, news, sports, dramas and film. It is a channel that produces a quality local production and grabs the loyalty of Malaysians.
It is broadcasting on VHF channel12 and UHF on channel29; this is widely seen because it is in the favour of the government and avoids giving enough news against of government.

In 2003, TV3 was awarded, Asia pacific Entrepreneurship it was an award for responsible Entrepreneurship organized by Enterprise Asia due to its significant contribution toward corporate social responsibility.
